PBIS

Our school uses positive behavior incentives to motivate students to follow expectations. Students have been divided into houses, or teams. Throughout each school day, students earn tokens for following class and school rules. These tokens go toward their house, or team total. At the end of the nine weeks, the house with the highest token total receives a reward. In class, I give rewards to the students whose house has the highest number of tokens for the week. In addition, I give daily rewards to individuals who go above and beyond expectations for behavior and academics.

As much as we do not want to see it happen, students do make mistakes and earn consequences as well. Students will always be given a chance to acknowledge their poor choices and improve before consequences are given. However, if they are unable to improve, students may lose class privileges or be removed from group or non academic activities to further reflect on how their choices have affected themselves and others. If this were to happen, you will be notified with a phone call after school on the day that the behavior occurs. If the student's behavior still does not improve, they will be referred to administration for further action.
